The main idea of this part is Lizzy got two letters (there were some bad news from her family). These letters gave important intelligence that her sister Lydia eloped with Mr. Wicham. Everybody was upset by that and Lizzy was in shock too. That news bewildered Elizabeth. Colonel Foster supposed that Mr. Wicham didn’t have any desires to be married with Lydia, but why he did it?! It was unwise action from their side. After the first letter Lizzy became indignant. From the next letter she knew other details of that event. No one knew where they were, but was an assumption that they didn’t leave to Scotland as Mr. Wicham wanted. Everybody wanted to trace their route and to know some information about them. Mr. Bennet decided to go to London that to find Lydia and return her to home. Colonel Foster was making all possible inquiry to find them. Such Lydia’s behavior was unpleasant for her family (her father was in the stress, and her mother felt a distress). She had been spared of these distressing scenes. Everybody owned that they longed for her return. She understood the importance of her being there. Her family needed a moral support.

II. Find out what Gretna Green is and what it is famous for.

Gretna Green is a small but thriving town on the West Coast in the South of Scotland. It is the famous place for wedding. In this part the author shows that Lydia and Mr. Wicham probably went to Gretna Green , because they wanted to get a wedding and it is a suitable place for this purpose.

The main idea of this part is Mr. Bennet couldn’t find her daughter and he had to return home alone. He made no mention of the unfortunate business. Of course Mr. Bennet was in anger but he didn’t show it. He was belted up as usual. His brother wanted to help him and left in London. The atmosphere in the Bennet’s house was awful. Mrs. Bennet worried about her husband and she still just cried in her bedroom. That event helped to Mr. Bennet to understand his fault. He blames himself in that situation. In that case he didn’t want to hear about other officers and promised to care about daughters better then before.
It wasn’t just Lydia’s problem but the tragedy of the whole family that everybody understood. Their family was in desperate condition and Lydia redoubled it more. They had nothing to do just wait some news from Mr. Gardiner who was in London and tried to find some inquires of the fugitives.

II. Say, what could the word “review” mean in this context?
“Well, well,” he said, “do not make yourself unhappy. If you are a good girl for the next ten years, I will take you to a review at the end of them.”

I suppose Mr. Bennet said these words with irony. He wanted to say that now he would control all actions of his daughters and doesn’t allow them to repeat such mistakes, and to see to it that nobody of his girls don’t spoils the rating and status of their family. “Review:” – means demonstration, showing. Mr. Bennet needs convincing proof that his girls can be independent and can be responsible for their and family’s life. By these words he wanted to prevent subsequent problems.

In this chapter we can see the emotional experience of Elizabeth. She hadn’t an instant to lose. Lizzy needed to take some measures that improve the situation that Lydia did. Sometimes she blamed herself that was happened. Perhaps she must inform her family what the person Mr. Wicham is and told them all details that she knew about his life from Mr. Darcy. Lizzy was assured that she could prevent this situation. She wanted to keep the dignity of her family, because that situation could influence her relationships with Mr. Darcy. Lizzy imparted news to him; in response, he couldn’t find the suitable words to appease her. Lizzy was tired from wretched suspense and she decided to go home. The backing of her uncle and her ant was very necessary for Lizzy. Her uncle couldn’t imagine that it could be happen. Lizzy still couldn’t believe that her younger sister eloped with Mr. Wicham. It was a disgrace for Lydia and for the whole family. It was unthinkable. Lizzy didn’t want to allow Lydia to destroy her contacts with Mr. Darcy. Because of that event Lizzy had to go home and she was really worried that it could be the last moment she saw Mr. Darcy. She scared to lose these good and warm relationships between them, but she must leave him. Mr. Darcy suffered about that and it was a pity to see Miss Bennet so upset, but he had nothing to do just felt sorry for her.

The main idea of this part is Mr. Gardiner got some tidings about Lydia and Mr. Wicham and informed her family about it. The wedding wasn’t ready and it was doubtful whether in the future. Also was news that Mr. Wicham had to move in the north because of his military service and Lydia would go with him. Mr. Gardiner suggested sharing Bennet’s inheritance which was secured among all girls after the decease of Mr. and Mrs. Bennet. Mr. Gardiner offered it because decided that it would be better for all. Subsequent actions depended on Mr. Bennet decision. Lydia was very desirous to be seeing all her family but her father didn’t want to see her and her husband in Longhorn because of her shameless conduct. There were different reactions on that news. Mr. Bennet didn’t fell a satisfaction by that news but Mrs. Bennet was delighted to know about Lydia’s wedding. But Mrs. Bennet was very happy to know it and see them. At once she became well and started to think about wedding dress. She also thought to brag about Lydia’s wedding. Finally Mrs. Bennet could make her husband change his mind and he agreed. Girls also begged their father to prove Lydia’s decision because there wasn’t another way.
